Prior to Seahaven Associates, Taxin served as Chairman, President and CEO of MegaPath Networks Inc., from its founding in early 1999 through August 2005.  MegaPath is a leading provider of secure broadband access and managed network services to businesses, with sales of approximately $90 million in 2005.  In April 2006, MegaPath merged with Netifice Communications.  Prior to MegaPath, in 1994 he founded Seahaven Associates, serving clients including General Motors, Nike, TASC/Litton, and numerous high-technology startups, building and developing their technology and business strategies. From 1989 through 1994 during his tenure as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Sony Electronics, Dr. Taxin was responsible for product research and development in North America and launched Sony's new Systems Integration business unit, growing that unit to the largest such business in North America. Previously, from 1979 to 1989 he was President and CEO of Cubicomp Corporation, a video animation company; VP of Sales & Marketing at Ridge Computers, a startup RISC-based workstation manufacturer; and VP of Marketing and also VP of Product Development at Gerber Systems Technology, a supplier of 3D mechanical CAD/CAM systems.  He began his professional career at the Hughes Aircraft Company in 1964, rising from Member of the Technical Staff to the position of Laboratory Manager, while simultaneously earning three graduate degrees at UCLA.  Dr. Taxin holds a PhD in Engineering from UCLA, a Master of Engineering (from the Engineering Executive Program, a high-tech MBA-equivalent) from UCLA, an MS Engineering from UCLA, and a BSEE from the University of Michigan.
